Kia ora whānau!
This week we had our parent workshops which is one of the steps needed so we can take our Chromebooks home - thank you to all who came!
We had a challenge for our parents which they had to complete without any technology - it was pretty tricky!
The key message was about actively monitoring us when we're using any digital device and talking to us about what we are doing online.
We were a Year 5 & 6 class @ Hay Park School and we loved using digital tools for learning! Our kaiako were Mrs Kingston & Mrs Wright.

Community Day! Opening of our new Playgroup! Fundraising! Softball Coaching! What a day!
Today was a super busy day! We had our community day and opened our new playgroup for under 5s and softball too :)
Our stall 'SWEET AS' made a tidy profit - in part thanks to the spruiking skills of Jeanett, Ashlyn and Simeon!
Check out our stall sign - team effort! And with the wonderful Audrey who helped organise the
community event.
A huge thank you to Miss Kim who has a knack for making hokey pokey with a few capable assistants from our class.
We also have to thank Mrs Wright for her fudge making skills (they went like hotcakes!).
In class we also made coconut ice (in a range of colours, including Hay Park colours) and Bliss Balls.
If anyone is after recipes from the day, leave a comment and we'll post them for you.
We have more photos of the day to share, but in the mean time here's us at softball coaching today!
