What a great holiday so far, huh? Hey Blogging World, how has your holiday break gone so far? I love it but I do miss school! Since I was missing school, I had a look on some of the class twitter pages and found Mr Hopkins's Twitter page!

I went through some tweets and found a pupil that attends Tamaki Primary as a yr8 student. He currently has 360(!) posts in only 2015! I commented on one of the first three posts (currently) and thanked him for showing me that I can do better in posting in time because my encouraging Teacher, Mrs Kingston, is always telling us that your blog will eventually get boring if you give a long time to keep posting. Stop Motion Animation

This week we have been learning how we can use Stop Motion Animation as  a way to share our learning. Taioalo, Genesis, Takepo and Poasa created a short clip about putting our rubbish into the correct bins.

Thermohaline Ocean Currents and Thinglink

We've been busy learning about Marine Habitats, Marine Life and have been on our first virtual field trip with LEARNZ. We learnt a lot about harbours and estuaries.

McCahon has been using Thinglink for our learning, it's awesome! And you can add so much of your work into only one interactive image.
We have also been learning about Ocean Currents. This is what we have found-

• Cold, salty water is denser and heavier than warm or cold freshwater.
• That surface tension is the thing that holds small insects that can walk on water.
• We have also found a word which is Thermohaline it means currents caused by salt and temperature.

Goal Setting with our Whanau!

Tomorrow is goal setting with our whanau. We are looking forward to the opportunity to share our learning goals with our families. We're in the process of uploading our presentations to our blogs so we can share our goals with those who can't make the conferences!

Here is the very talented Faith and her welcome to her family! We think Faith could end up on tv some day!

Thanks to all our whanau who came to our first parent workshop tonight! We shared some of the work we have done and showed our family some of the key websites we use to support our learning. We really enjoyed ourselves!
